Lady Indian golf improves to 14-0 overall

HILLSBORO — The Hillsboro Lady Indians won by an impressive 98 strokes on Tuesday, defeating the Zane Trace Lady Pioneers 196-294 in a non-league match to improve to 14-0 overall.
In South Central Ohio League play this season HHS is 4-0 overall, as no opponent, league or non-league, has been within 10 strokes of HHS when the match is complete.
"We want to continue to improve each match," Hillsboro coach Sue Hunter said. "We are taking this season one match at a time."
Hillsboro's team motto is: "Forget the opponent and play against par," and that's what the Lady Indians have been doing all season.
The leader Tuesday for the Lady Indians was junior Arden Knauff with a low score of 48.
HHS senior Carey Juillerat and sophomore Haylee Wehrung each finished with a score of 49 on the nine-hole course.
Juillerat said about the Lady Indians' team, "The great thing about our team is when one is down, the rest of us are there to pick each other up."
Sophomore Mallory Mullenix was next for HHS with a score of 50, followed by senior Jordan Elmore at 53 and sophomore Halee Allen at 54.
Scores for Zane Trace were: Kerstin Kane 62, Bailey Yerian 68, Rosemary Stanley 76, Sierra Kemper 88 and Amber Wilhelm 89.
HHS is scheduled to host Miami Trace tomorrow in a SCOL match.[[In-content Ad]]
