Hillsboro junior Kristin Jamieson won the 2018 Golfweek Junior Tournament in Lexington, Ky. on Sunday as she began her spring golf season.

Jamieson — who is a verbal commit to The Ohio State University women’s golf team — won what was a qualifier to the IMG Junior World Tournament that takes place in San Diego this July.

The tournament went into a sudden death playoff where Jamieson, a two-time OHSAA Division I State Golf Tournament qualifier, birdied both playoff holes to earn the win.

At the event played at the Big Blue Course at the University of Kentucky, Jamieson was +4 for the 18-hole event in the victory, as she shot a 39 on a Par 36 in the front nine holes and a 37 on a Par 37 on the back nine.

The first three holes of the event on the front nine, Jamieson shot even par with two par fours and a par three on the third hole. Next, Jamieson shot a five on a Par 4, followed by two consecutive pars on a Par 5 and Par 4. On hole seven, Jamieson shot a six on a Par 5 and then came back with a par on the eighth hole, a Par 3. She finished out the front nine with a score of five on a Par 4 for the 39 total.

On the back nine, Jamieson started off by shooting even on holes 10-12 with two Par 4s and a Par 3. On the 13th hole, the HHS junior shot a birdie on a Par 5, then shot a double bogey on the 14th hole with a six on a Par 4. On hole 15, Jamieson shot for par on a Par 4, then came back with a six on a Par 5. On the 17th hole, she shot for par on a Par 3, and on the 18th hole, she shot for birdie with a three on a Par 4.

The playoff hole had Jamieson shoot for birdie on a Par 4, and on the second playoff hole, she shot for birdie again on a Par 4.
