The second-place finish earned by Jamieson qualified her to the OHSAA Division I State Championships for the second consecutive year.
As a sophomore, Jamieson tied with seven other golfers for 34th place at the OHSAA Division I State Golf Tournament last fall at the Gray Course on the campus of The Ohio State University.
Jamieson will play at the 2017 Division I State Golf Championships on Friday, Oct. 20 and Saturday, Oct. 21 at The Ohio State University Gray Course.
“Just making state isn’t the only goal Kristin has set for herself, as she wants to do well at state too,” Hillsboro head coach David Hilliard told The Highland County Press. “She didn’t play up to her own high expectations Thursday, but she qualified for state, and that is a big positive for her.
“Kristin will keep doing what she’s done all season and will prepare herself to do well.”
As for the rest of the Lady Indians on Thursday in the district round, seniors Emily Loudin and Madi Stratton played their final match for Hillsboro. Loudin finished with a score of 99, and Stratton finished with a 103 score.
“Both seniors — Emily and Madi — it is hard to see them leave, and we appreciate everything they’ve done in their four years with the program. Both have worked very hard to have a good senior year, and they were a good group of kids to coach.”
Also for the Lady Indians, Larkyn Parry scored a 112, and Mallory Parsons scored a 114.
Hilliard spoke about the entire event on Thursday.
“It was wet as they had a lot of rain, and that caused the course to play longer because it was wet,” Hilliard said. “The sand traps were played as ground under repair because of how wet it was, and the greens were fast.
“For the most part, the kids competed well. As a team, we wanted to shoot around 360 coming in, so we were a little short of reaching that, but winning sectionals to get here, I’m happy with the overall results of the season.”
The winner of the event was McKenzie Dale of Dover with a score of 64. Final scores for the teams included: 1, Dover (331); 2, New Philadelphia (339); 3, Carrollton (351); 4, Hillsboro (389); 5, Logan (405) and 6, Jackson (485).
