Indians tied for SCOL top spot; upend Red Raiders

LONDON — One game removed from scoring a season-low 38 points, the Hillsboro Indians rebounded with a South Central Ohio League win over the London Red Raiders, 63-55 Saturday night at LHS.
Both teams scored in double figures in each quarter, with the Indians leading the opening frame 14-12.
It was a one-point differential in the second quarter with HHS leading 13-12, for a halftime advantage of 27-24.
HHS continued to win every quarter to take home the SCOL win with a 17-16 third frame and 19-15 final quarter.
The Indians are now tied in the SCOL for first place with the Miami Trace Panthers. Each team is 5-1 overall. Hillsboro's lone SCOL loss came from Clinton-Massie and Miami Trace was defeated by HHS earlier in the season.
Leading for HHS against London was Aric Carroll with 12 points. He was just one of three Hillsboro players to score in double figures, with Eli Hogsett scoring 11 points and Chase Gilliland scoring 10.
Tyrand Cumberland and Jarred Hart each scored nine points. Devante Ames had eight points, and Dow Kiefer scored four.
HHS made 22 shots from the field, including four 3-pointers. Carroll sank two 3-point shots, and Cumberland and Gilliland each made one.
For London, Johnson led with a game-high 14 points, followed by Fisher with 10.
The Indians now stand at 7-3 overall and 5-1 in the SCOL. They are scheduled to face the McClain Tigers on Tuesday, Jan. 18 at HHS.[[In-content Ad]]
