Indians tennis defeats Falcons

The Hillsboro boys tennis team recently defeated the Clinton-Massie Falcons for a South Central Ohio League victory.

The Indians, the road team, won the match vs. CM by a score of 3-2, winning all three singles events.

In first singles, Reese Leibreich defeated Massie's Cullen Corcoran in two sets at 6-4, 6-4.  

Hillsboro's Ben Rhoads followed with a three-set win over Sam Galliot 1-6, 6-1, 6-3 for a second singles win.

Colton Wertsbaugh (HHS) defeated Massie's Nick Ratliff in third singles, 6-1, 6-4.

HHS lost both doubles events, with Stanley Lannigan and Alex Rhoads falling to CM (Leach/Leach) 6-0, 0-6 and 3-6.

In second singles, Hillsboro's Patrick Shanahan and Ryan Palmer lost to Jones and Turner (CM) by scores of 2-6, 0-6.

On Monday, April 18, the Indians lost a non-league match to the Western Brown Broncos, 4-1.

The lone winners for HHS were the first doubles team of Stanley Lannigan and Alex Rhoads, who defeated Creech and Mitchell in two sets at 6-3, 6-3.

In first singles, Reese Leibreich lost to Western's Mcree Kindell 4-6, 4-6. In second singles, Ben Rhoads lost to Chase Latham (WB) 2-6, 4-6. Third singles saw Colton Wertsbaugh fall in two sets to Jordan Helton (WB) 1-6, 3-6.

In second doubles, Patrick Shanahan and Ryan Palmer lost to Rymer and Jacobs 2-6, 4-6.[[In-content Ad]]
