The Hillsboro Indians and Chillicothe Cavaliers had their game suspended due to darkness in the top of the sixth inning with the Cavs leading, 8-6.

In the suspended game, the Cavs have runners on second and third bases with two outs to go with their two-run lead in their South Central Ohio League contest.

Getting to that point for the Indians, they trailed 3-0 going into the bottom of the second but scored one run when Payton Bell crossed home plate, scoring on a two-out base hit by Kelton Anderson.

The Indians trailed by three runs again going into the bottom of the third as the Cavaliers added another run to their side of the scoring column for a 4-1 advantage going into the bottom of the third. That three-run deficit turned into a 6-4 lead for the Indians.

HHS tallied five runs in the bottom of the third, with runs by Justin Scott, Mason Stanley, Jonah Humphries, Hunter Chain and Brian Smith. Scott was first to score in the inning.

Stanley later scored on a passed ball, and that run was followed with Humphries scoring on a base hit through the middle of the infield by Chain. Smith followed with a base hit to score Chain and took second on the throw to home. Smith had an RBI single that scored Chain, and Smith also took second on the throw home, siding into the base and beating the throw.

Cayse Cameron doubled to centerfield on a high fly to score Smith for the fifth run of the inning and a 6-4 HHS lead.

In the top of the fourth, the Cavaliers responded with one run, then in the top of the sixth, Chillicothe added three more runs for their current 8-6 advantage.

The game will restart on April 28 in Chillicothe.

The next game for HHS will be on Wednesday, April 12 vs. McClain in SCOL play.
