Hillsboro’s Kristin Jamieson wins Div. I sectional

Hillsboro senior Kristin Jamieson was back to golfing with the girls on Monday afternoon, as she won the 2018 SE District Sectional Tournament at Pickaway Golf Course.
Jamieson — who golfed on the Hillsboro boys golf team during the 2018 season, helping them win the Frontier Athletic Conference championship — won the girls sectional with a 18-hole score of 73. Jamieson’s 73 score came with a 34 score on the front nine and a score of 39 on the back nine.
The Hillsboro senior won the event by seven strokes, as the second-place finisher in the sectional tournament was Lexis Fickel of Logan with a score of 80.

Jamieson is a two-time state qualifier in Division I and has committed to play women’s golf at the collegiate level at The Ohio State University.
The other two individual golfers who qualified for the district tournament were Andrea Bedell of Athens (95) and Riley Corrigan of Athens (112).
The team sectional champion was Logan with a score of 417, followed by Sheridan in second at 431 and Miami Trace in third at 461. All three schools qualified for the district tournament.
For the third-place Lady Panthers of Miami Trace, their scores included: Libby Aleshire (97), Makayla Barnes (141), Alyssa Butler (107), Meri Grace Carson (121) and Regan Hagler (136).
Also golfing as a team were Athens in fourth (477), Marietta in fifth (478) and Jackson in sixth (546).
