After the first set loss of 25-19, which was the closest final score of any of the three sets played, the Lady Indians played tough in the second set. At one point, Hillsboro was within six points of the visitors at 17-11, but Washington was just too strong toward the latter moments of the second set, where they were ahead by scores of 23-15, 24-16 and finally by the final score of 25-17.

Then came the third set for the Lady Indians, where they and the Lady Blue Lions each played strong at various points of the set.

Early in the third set, Hillsboro’s Sydney Bobbitt had two strong points with plays at the net, including a kill and a block as HHS trailed by a 4-2 score. From there, Corrine Ray helped in the scoring column for the Lady Indians, but HHS eventually trailed by a 11-4 score.

The most constant part of the third set for the Lady Indians came when they got to within an 11-7 score with help from serving by Katie Condo, and later a serve by Maddy Miller made it a 13-9 score with HHS trailing by just four points.

Eventually, the Lady Indians trailed by an 18-16 score as Hillsboro battled with Paige Loudin, Delaney Eakins, Beth Taylor, Abby Brown, Bobbitt and Ray on the court, forcing the Lady Blue Lions to call a timeout.

Also in the FAC match against the Lady Blue Lions, Jordan Williamson and Kailey Dietrick contributed to the HHS scoring.

After Washington settled down following the timeout, they outscored HHS, 7-1 to end the third set and the conference match.
