Hillsboro tennis defeats Notre Dame

The Hillsboro Indians recently defeated the Portsmouth Notre Dame Titans 5-0 in a boys tennis match.

Reese Leibreich (HHS) defeated Matt Saab in three sets, 4-6, 6-0, 6-4 for a first singles win.

Ben Rhoads (HHS) defeated Luis Benitez in two sets, in second singles, at 6-4, 6-2.

In third singles, Colton Wertsbaugh (HHS) defeated Weston Craig 6-7, 6-3, 6-1 for the win.

Hillsboro in doubles play had two wins, with Stanley Lannigan and Alex Rhoads (HHS) defeating Joshi and Welsh 6-4 and 6-4, in first doubles.

In second doubles, Patrick Shanahan and Cody Pollard (HHS) defeated Story and Gohmann 6-1, 7-5.

Two days later, the Indians lost to Miami Trace, in a South Central Ohio League matchup, 4-1.

The lone HHS win came in first doubles when Lannigan and Alex Rhoads (HHS) defeated Georgia and McCoppin 6-2, 6-2.

In first singles, Leibreich (HHS) lost 5-7, 2-6 to Landon Gibbs.

Ben Rhoads (HHS) lost to Zach Hopper 3-6, 2-6 in second singles, and in third singles Wertsbaugh (HHS) lost to Zac Carson 0-6, 1-6.

The second doubles match saw Shanahan and Pollard (HHS) fall to Cem and Saller 1-6, 2-6.[[In-content Ad]]
