WASHINGTON C.H. — Not much went right for the Hillsboro Indians football team on Friday night at Gardner Park as they had triple the turnovers of their host Washington, as the home team Blue Lions won in convincing fashion by a 47-14 score in Week 4.
The Indians have struggled keeping possession of the football this season, and the young HHS squad did the same in Week 4 as they lost the football three times for turnovers en route to their fourth loss of the season.
HHS (0-3, 0-4) struggled to get momentum on the road in the FAC showdown against the previously winless Washington, who are now 1-2 in the FAC and 1-3 overall on the season. The Blue Lions shut out the Indians in the first half, leading by a 39-0 score at halftime as they scored 19 points in the first quarter, then followed with 20 more points in the second.
HHS scored all 14 points in the second half as Washington began to switch players in their lineup, as they led by a 47-0 score with 5:03 left in the third frame.

Griffith scored Hillsboro’s first touchdown of the game with 4:17 left in the third quarter, as the first down play from their own 31-yard line saw Stout maneuver past a couple Washington defenders. He found a wide-open Griffith for the score, as Griffith caught the pass and raced his way to the end zone for 69 yards. HHS went for two points on the conversion attempt, but it was no good. Also in the game, Griffith rushed for 18 yards on three carries.
