Hillsboro club softball wins last 5 games

The Hillsboro junior high fast-pitch softball team recently won the Western Division of the South Central Ohio Club Fastpitch League, wrapping up their regular season at 8-1 overall.
In recent games, Hillsboro defeated Adena, Miami Trace and Greenfield. Hillsboro will play in the postseason tournament on May 7-8 in Chillicothe.
On May 1 against Adena, a doubleheader, Hillsboro defeated Adena by scores of 11-0 and 19-1.
In the first game, Mallori Crum was 2-for-2 with two runs, followed by Jaylyn Yochum, who was 1-for-2 with a double and one run. Also in the first game against Adena, Mackenzie Sluss was 2-for-3, with a double, two runs and two RBIs.
Hanna Breeden finished 2-for-3, with three runs, and Madison Snyder went 3-for-3, with a triple and three runs. Emily Myers was 2-for-3 with one run. Camryn Remsing was 1-for-2 with one run, and Mallory Sluss was 1-for-4 with two runs.
The winning pitcher was Breeden, with four innings pitched in the circle. She struck out nine, allowing three hits and one earned run.
In the second game vs. Adena, Mackenzie Sluss was 3-for-3, with three RBIs and two runs. Breeden was 2-for-2 with one walk and three runs. Kerstin Thornburgh was 2-for-2 with a triple, hit-by-pitch, one walk and three runs.
Remsing was 1-for-2 with two runs. Crum was 2-for-3 with two runs. Yochum went 1-for-2 with two runs.
Thornburgh was the winning pitcher, going five innings with seven strikeouts and two hits.

On April 30, Hillsboro traveled to Miami Trace and won two games by scores of 7-3 and 8-3.
In game one, Thornburgh finished 2-for-2 with two doubles and two runs. Breeden was 2-for-2 with a walk. Snyder went 1-for-1 with two walks and three runs.
Breeden and Thornburgh combined to throw a one-hitter, while striking out 11.
In game two, Mackenzie Sluss was 1-for-3, while Kelsey Klein went 1-for-2 with one run.
Also for Hillsboro, Myers was 1-for-3, one RBI; Breeden went 2-for-3, a double and one run. Thornburgh was 1-for-3, a double and one run.
Thornburgh was the winning pitcher with 10 strikeouts.
