HILLSBORO — The Hillsboro boys soccer team held the lead late in the first half on Thursday against the Washington Blue Lions. The young HHS team was unable to hold on to the lead and eventually lost the match to the visiting team.

The Indians ended up losing the match by a 3-2 score, with both HHS goals coming from Austin Goolsby. He scored the first goal of the match in the first half to give the Indians a 1-0 lead, but that lead turned into a tied score with 7:00 left in the opening half.

Washington took a 2-1 lead to end the first half with another goal, as their first half goals were scored by Blaise Tayese and Max Schroeder.

The Blue Lions took a 3-1 advantage with their final goal of the match coming within the first 10 minutes of the second half by Tayese.

HHS pressured the Washington defense in the final seven minutes of the match but came up short of tying the match for the SCOL loss.
