Hillsboro 8th grade boys basketball defeats Washington

The Hillsboro Indians boys eighth grade basketball team won their first game of the season by defeating the Washington Blue Lions, 37-28.

The leading scorers for the Indians were Landon Webber with seven points, Derek Whitt with six points and Quentin Captain with five points.

“I felt we rebounded exceptionally well,” Hillsboro eighth grade boys basketball coach Eli Hogsett said. “We played with great energy and intensity, and our defensive effort and pressure was key to the win.”

The next game for the Hillsboro eighth grade team is this Thursday, Dec. 7 at home vs. Jackson.
