HHS to host Volley for the Cure Oct. 4

By
Samantha Pitzer and Amelia Shaw-
Hillsboro High School volleyball teams will hold their annual "Volley for the Cure" game on Oct. 4. The Lady Indians will be taking on the Greenfield McClain Tigers. The varsity game will start at 6:15 p.m. Teams are asking the crowd to "paint" the stands pink and show their support in the fight against breast cancer and bring awareness to this worthy cause.

The HHS Business Co-Op class is helping to organize the event by holding games, conducting raffles, selling tickets for door prizes and holding a split-the-pot. They will also sell T-shirts before and during the game. The cost of T-shirts is $8 for youth-adult XL and 2XL shirts for $10. In addition to the games and festivities, local women Beverly Hottle and Christina Storer will be the guest speakers for the event, sharing their stories about their battles with breast cancer and how it has affected their lives.

The goal is to raise $1,250, with proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for the Cure. If the goal is met, there will be a pie in the face for a Hillsboro High School teacher of the students' choice. Please help us meet our goal and support the HHS Lady Indians as they Volley for the Cure of breast cancer.[[In-content Ad]]
