Goolsby wins districts; going to state

GOSHEN - Gaining a first place finish in the 125-pound class at the Division II District Wrestling Tournament, Hillsboro's Andrew Goolsby is headed to the state wrestling meet as he won four matches in two days at Goshen High School.
Goolsby won his championship match on Saturday with an 8-6 decision over Sheldon Kegley (Graham).
To get to the championship match Goolsby went a perfect 3-0 as he won matches via pin and maj. decisions on his route to Columbus.
In his first match Goolsby defeated Franklin's Matt Middleton 16-4 with a maj. decision.
In the quarterfinals he won the same way a he gained a maj. decision against Tyler Sherrock (Northwestern) at 11-2.
The semifinals came with Goolsby being the victor for his third straight match at the two-day event, winning this time via pin at the 2:11 mark of the match, defeating Greenville's Ben Edwards.
Goolsby, a senior, is 35-3 overall this season.
The state tournament will take place from March 4-6 at the Jerome Schottenstein Center, on the campus of The Ohio State University, in Columbus.[[In-content Ad]]
