2018 First and Ten High School Football Preview (Digital Edition)

With thanks and appreciation to area football coaches and their respective teams, the 2018 First and Ten High School Football Preview Edition presented by The Highland County Press is now available at select area stores and the newspaper office at 128 South High Street in Hillsboro. This is the ninth year for the publication.

The six teams of the Frontier Athletic Conference will begin their sophomore season, with five teams looking to unseat the inaugural conference champion Chillicothe Cavaliers, who went undefeated in the FAC. There looks to be a lot of excitement and competitive football play ahead for the 2018 campaign. As with every football season, some of the names and faces will change and the starting lineups will differ, but the ultimate goals to win a conference championship and to possibly earn a playoff berth remain the same.

Along with the teams of the FAC, this year's publication offers a detailed look at two other area schools – the Paint Valley Bearcats of the Scioto Valley Conference and the East Clinton Astros of the Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference. Abbreviated information on other SVC and Clinton County teams are also included.

The goal of the annual First and Ten edition is also to provide football fans with a reference guide to other conferences and leagues across southern and central Ohio for the entire season, with information on their teams’ coaches, schedules for the upcoming season and records and standings from the previous season.

HCP Sports Editor Stephen Forsha appreciates the local coaches who have generously given their time to talk about their respective teams this preseason. We would also like to thank the area advertisers who contributed to this annual publication and make this preview possible every year. We encourage our readers to support their businesses.

As always, all high school football fans are encouraged to visit highlandcountypress.com throughout the football season. Weekly scores, standings and game articles and/or recaps are updated each Friday night, along with videos, photos, columns and other commentary all season long. Thanks for reading!
