Hillsboro softball rebounds with 2 three-run innings in win over London

The Hillsboro Lady Indians got back on track with their winning ways on Thursday as they went on the road and defeated the London Lady Red Raiders by an 8-3 score in a non-conference showdown in Madison County.
A big part of the win was the pitching of Camryn Spruell, who in seven innings not only tossed a complete game, but allowed three runs (nine earned) on four hits and one walk, while collecting 13 strikeouts in the win.
Spruell threw 116 pitches, 75 for strikes, as she faced a total of 30 batters.
On offense, the Lady Indians led 1-0 after the first inning, then added consecutive three-run innings in the top of the third and fourth innings, followed by each team scoring one run in the fifth for a 8-1 lead. London scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to complete the scoring for the game.
Hillsboro finished with nine hits on the night, but committed three errors. London had four hits and four errors.
Isabelle Brunck finished 3-for-4 (a double) with one run, while Addie Huff was 2-for-3 with two RBI. Eowyn Brown finished 1-for-2 with two runs and two walks.
Also for the Lady Indians, Kinsley Gilliland was 1-for-3 (a double) with two runs, one RBI and one walk.
Chloe Roberts finished with one walk, while Morgan German was 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
The win improves Hillsboro to 4-1 overall on the season.
