Volleyball
Lady Mustangs lose against Ripley

In a SHAC contest on Thursday, Sept. 14, the Ripley Lady Blue Jays defeated the host Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs in four sets.

RHS won sets one, three and four by scores of 25-12, 25-14 and 25-10, and LCHS won set two at 25-23.

Addy Carraher led LCHS with 14 kills, as the team totaled 48 in the loss.

Leading LCHS in assists was Ava McLaughlin with 17. The aces leader was Carraher with five, and Allison Rockey led LCHS with 51 digs. Halle Greene was LC’s leader in blocks with two.

The loss moves LCHS to 2-5 in the SHAC and 2-8 overall.

Girls Soccer
Lynchburg-Clay adds SHAC win by defeating Fayetteville

This past Thursday (Sept. 14), the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs defeated the host Fayetteville Lady Rockets, 6-0.

LCHS had two goals each from Jade Massey and Aubrey Slack, plus one goal each by Autumn Wilkin and Haidyn Wolfe.

Massey, Brya McClain, Samantha Merry, Allie Waits and Wolfe each had an assist.

Caitlyn Collins totaled 10 saves at goal for the Lady Mustangs.

Girls Tennis
Hillsboro tennis sweeps Washington

In a game played Thursday (Sept. 14), the Hillsboro Lady Indians dominated the final wins total as they defeated FAC foe, the Washington Lady Blue Lions, sweeping all five events.

Hillsboro’s first singles competitor, Scarlett Studebaker won 6-3, 6-3. Teammate Aly Johnson won in second singles at 6-2, 6-1. The third singles game had Jenna Hart as the winner for HHS with scores of 6/0, 6/3.

In doubles action, Kallie Sharp and Keyle Johnson won first doubles at 6-2, 6-2. The second doubles game was won by Natalie Tharp and Adalyn Gaines at 6-1, 6-3.

Girls Soccer
Hillsboro Lady Indians win over visiting Chillicothe

The Hillsboro Lady Indians won while defending their home field on Thursday night (Sept. 14) by defeating the Chillicothe Lady Cavaliers, winning the Frontier Athletic Conference game by a 2-1 score.

Hillsboro had a goal from Addyson Miles, with the assist from Rylie Scott. The second HHS goal was from Kobie Miles, with the assist by Hannah Holland.

Boys Soccer
Indians lose to visiting Chillicothe

Hillsboro’s boys soccer team lost in Frontier Athletic Conference play Thursday night (Sept. 14) to the visiting Chillicothe Cavaliers by a 4-2 score.

Hillsboro had two goals by Ryan Howland, which were assisted by Tate Davis and Wesley Bailey.

Volleyball
Hillsboro volleyball falls in 3 sets to Chillicothe

Hosting the Chillicothe Lady Cavaliers on Thursday night (Sept. 14), the Hillsboro Lady Indians lost in three straight sets to their FAC rival at HHS.

HHS lost by scores of 25-21, 25-13 and 25-11.

Hillsboro is now 1-3 in FAC games this season and 3-6 overall after the games Thursday.

Friday, Sept. 15
Volleyball
Lynchburg-Clay volleyball wins against West Union

In a four-set match play on Friday night (Sept. 15), the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs earned a SHAC victory over the host West Union Dragons in four sets, winning by a 4-1 match score.

LCHS won set one at 25-17 and also gained a victory in set two at 25-15. The third set was won by WUHS at 25-20, but LCHS ended the conference game with a set-four win at 25-23.

Lynchburg-Clay was led in kills by Addy Carraher with seven, and teammates Mattie Magee and Avery Shope were next with five each.

LCHS totaled 14 aces in the win with Joslyn Rockey with four, while Carraher and Kylie O’Connor each finished with three. Allison Rockey finished with two, while Shope and Autumn Griffith each finished with one ace.

Halle Greene had two total blocks for the Lady Mustangs, and leading in digs were Allison Rockey and Joslyn Rockey with 25 each. Ava McLaughlin finished with 11 assists to top the stats sheet for LCHS.

LCHS is now 3-8 overall and 3-5 in the SHAC.

Saturday, Sept. 16
Girls Soccer
LCHS girls soccer ties with Grandview Heights

Hosting a non-conference game Saturday afternoon, the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs tied with Grandview Heights, 2-2.

Both LCHS goals were scored by Jade Massey, with one of the goals assisted by Aubrey Slack.

Caitlyn Collins at keeper for the Lady Mustangs totaled six saves.

The tie leaves LCHS at 4-0-4 overall, as they also have a SHAC record of 1-0-1.

Volleyball
Fairfield volleyball drops away match at Northwest

The Fairfield Lady Lions volleyball team lost Saturday (Sept. 16) to the host Northwest Mohawks by a 3-1 match score.

Fairfield won the third set at 25-17, but lost set one (25-19), set two (25-16) and set four (26-24).

Jobey Hattan led FHS with 16 kills, and she was the digs leader with 16.

Remi Moon led FHS with three aces, and Kelsey Clark was the blocks leader with three. Clark also led FHS with 22 assists.

Girls Soccer
Lady Lions soccer gains non-conference win over Alexander

The Fairfield Lady Lions were the winners on Saturday (Sept. 16) by defeating host Alexander by a 2-0 score in non-conference girls soccer action.

Both FHS goals were scored by Faith Donley, with assists credited to Vivian Henninger and Ava Hooper.

Claire Newkirk totaled six saves in the shutout win.

The win puts Fairfield at 7-1-0 overall this season.

Lady Indians lose to Zane Trace

On Saturday in a volleyball tri-match, the Hillsboro Lady Indians lost to Zane Trace in two sets by scores of 25-14 and 25-19. Results vs. Western Brown were not available.
