Wilmington native joins Naval History and Heritage Command

U.S. Navy Lt. Jonah Hein, a 2006 graduate of Wilmington High School, recently joined the Naval History and Heritage Command as a physical security officer.

Lieutenant Hein, who has served in the U.S. Navy for close to five years, is now the physical security officer for the Office of Inspection and Compliance where he oversees the implementation of physical security measures for NHHC's 10 official Navy museums located throughout the United States.

"I enjoy working in an environment surrounded by Navy history, from the National Museum of the U.S. Navy to the Washington Navy Yard itself," said Hein, whose office is located on the Yard.

"I look forward to helping preserve that history and share it with the American public," continued the 2010 Miami University graduate.

During Lieutenant Hein's time in the Navy thus far, he has served onboard the USS Forrest Sherman (DDG 98) and was also a Naval Gunfire Liaison Officer with II Marine Expeditionary Force for 18 months.
