We're havin' a heat wave, a tropical heat wave...

August 11 is a date we should all remember along about the middle of next January. Maybe then today's 95+ temperatures and high humidity won't seem so intolerable.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued another heat advisory, as temperatures are expected to climb into the mid-90s with a heat index of 105 to 110.

A heat advisory is issued when high humidities are expected to combine with hot temperatures to make it feel like it is 100 degrees or greater.

People experiencing a heat advisory are advised to avoid prolonged activity in sun, or in poorly ventilated areas. Try to stay in an air-conditioned environment and drink plenty of liquids. 

And remember, there's only 131 days until winter begins!

 An excessive heat warning has been issued for Highland, Adams and Brown counties today. (All counties shown in purple are under an excessive heat warning today.)
Today's going to be hotter than a Reds-Cardinals backyard barbecue and cornhole tournament.
