Press Release-
In advance of the DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Oct. 22, U.S. Congressman Brad Wenstrup (OH-2) urged Ohioans to consider taking advantage of the opportunity to properly dispose of their expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs to support ongoing efforts to combat the opioid epidemic that is devastating Ohio’s Second Congressional District.

“Opioid and heroin abuse are a huge problem in our own backyard here in southern and southwest Ohio. Drug abuse drives users into a cycle of poverty and crime that hurts their families, friends and communities,” Wenstrup said. “Fighting the opioid epidemic starts at a local level, with members of the community helping each other with both recovery and prevention. It is up to us to raise awareness and cut the supply of prescription opiates, which act as a gateway to heroin. Thank you to the local police departments who are participating in this effort and working toward ending the drug epidemic.”
The following locations will be collecting unwanted prescription drugs for disposal this Saturday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. For more information about National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day in your community, visit https://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/drug_disposal/takeback/.
