Missing Colorado man Derek Stephen Weber has been found, after investigators located Weber at a hotel in Cincinnati.

An investigation by the Highland County Detectives Division revealed that Weber's credit cards were being used in Brown, Clermont and Hamilton Counties after his rental car had been discovered May 23.

Investigators made contact with Weber at the hotel and transported him back to Highland County, where he was later turned over to his parents, who had flown from the state of Colorado to pick him up.

As previously reported by The Highland County Press, Weber, 26, was reported missing from Douglas County, Colo. and was last seen near Mowrystown.

On May 23, deputies with the Highland County Sheriff's Office located a rental car leased by Weber that contained all of his personal property and clothing. The vehicle had been abandoned in a remote area just west of Mowrystown.

Further investigation by the Highland County Sheriff's Office found that Weber was missing from the state of Colorado. Family members from Colorado went to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and requested a report that Weber was a missing adult. A search by foot and by aircraft was conducted, and at that time Weber had not been located. Deputies did locate where Weber had approached a resident on Kay Road in Whiteoak Township requesting to spend the night.
