Updated: Chief Bradley George placed on leave

Bradley George, chief of the Paint Creek Joint EMS and Fire District, has been placed on leave.

George is an 18-year veteran firefighter.

A message for comment was left on George's cell phone this week, but he has not returned the call.

The Highland County Press also has contacted Paint Creek Joint EMS and Fire District Board of Trustees. A board member said that the action taken occurred in an executive session.

• On Tuesday, July 14, the board met again in executive session. No action was taken, according to a board member.

The Paint Creek district was formed in 2009, following the decision to abolish the former Greenfield Fire Department.

In the past five years, the district has expanded to include several townships in the county, the city of Hillsboro, and Buckskin Township in Ross County.

The district recently established a new fire station in the Rainsboro area near U.S. 50 and state Route 753.
