SR 73 closure scheduled

By
-
As work nears completion on the construction of the Wilmington Bypass, a closure of State Route 73 is scheduled to begin Monday, Sept. 19.

The month-long closure is located on existing SR 73 where it ties in to the new bypass.

Eastbound SR 73 traffic into Wilmington is detoured to south SR 380 to east U.S. 22. Westbound SR 73 traffic out of Wilmington is detoured to west U.S. 22 to north SR 380.

Arrow boards and signs will be in place prior to the work zone to alert motorists of the upcoming road closure.

To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.[[In-content Ad]]
