Highland County Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports that on March 5, 2015, deputies responded to the Greystone Motel on U.S. Route 50, in Liberty Township on a tip that there was methamphetamine activity in Room 112.

Sheriff Barrera states that the caller also reported that Gregory Russell, 35, was in the room.

Russell was wanted on an outstanding Highland County warrant on an indictment for trafficking in methamphetamine and manufacturing.

When deputies approached the room, they could smell a chemical odor coming from inside of the room. Deputies attempted to contact the occupants of the room, but the occupants refused to answer the door.

Deputies were able to identify Russell through a window, according to Sheriff Barrera.

The motel owner assisted with gaining entrance into the room. Once inside, deputies located Russell, three other males and two females. Items used in the manufacturing of methamphetamines were observed in the room. A search warrant was obtained.

According to Sheriff Barrera,

• Gregory Russell, 35, was arrested on an outstanding warrant on indictment and charged with resisting arrest;

• Adam Jenkins, 25, of Kentucky, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for breaking and entering from Lawrence County, Ohio, and obstructing justice;

• Melissa Greene, 25, Bradley Wright, 27, Lindsey Verne, 29, and Joshua Roland, 31, were charged with obstructing justice.

Additional charges may be forthcoming on all subjects involved, said Sheriff Barrera.
