Sen. Wilkin issues statement on DeWine executive order

State Sen. Shane Wilkin today released the following statement in response to Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s Executive Order 2024-01D, which bans gender transition surgeries for anyone under the age of 18:

"While I agree with the governor’s order to prevent gender surgeries from being performed on minors, it fails to address the issues I voted for in House Bill 68 that protect our kids, specifically our young girls. Boys still shouldn’t be playing girls’ sports. Period.”

Wilkin proudly supported passage of House Bill 68, which was vetoed by Gov. DeWine on Dec. 29.
