Sen. Husted earns another labor endorsement from National Border Patrol Council

COLUMBUS — Senator Jon Husted today announced he has earned the endorsement of the National Border Patrol Council, the labor union that represents approximately 18,000 U.S. Border Patrol agents and support personnel. This marks Husted’s fourth labor endorsement since Sherrod Brown entered the race.

“Every state is a border state. I’m proud of the progress our nation has made, working alongside President Trump and Vice President Vance, to stop illegal immigration. The endorsement from the Border Patrol Council reflects that progress and our shared commitment to finish the job,” Husted said.

“Senator Husted has already proven he will stand with President Trump and the men and women of the NBPC to deliver the most secure border in our lifetime. He has our back and we have his. Contrast that with his opponent, Sherrod Brown, who spent his last four years in office watching as the Biden Administration opened the nation to a flood of illegal immigrants, which brought drugs, crime and havoc to communities in Ohio and across the country.”

Husted has long been an advocate for law enforcement and border security. He cast the deciding vote for the One Big Beautiful Bill, which provided $170.7 billion in new funding to strengthen immigration and border enforcement through the Departments of Homeland Security and Defense. The package included $7.8 billion dedicated to hiring additional agents, upgrading vehicles and improving the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.

Just last week, Husted earned the endorsement of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66. He has also been endorsed by the Northwest Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council, which represents 18 locally affiliated unions, and by Operating Engineers Local 18.
