Secretary of State Husted certifies candidates, official form of 2016 Primary Election Ballot

COLUMBUS – Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted this week certified delegates for presidential candidates as well as candidates for statewide offices as part of the official form of the 2016 Presidential Primary Election Ballot.

In accordance with Section 3513.05 of the Ohio Revised Code, the Secretary of State is required to certify the official form of the ballot no later than 70 days before the primary election.

FOR PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES
Democratic delegate-at-large and alternate delegate-at-large were certified for:

• Hillary Clinton
• Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente
• Bernie Sanders

Republican delegates-at-large and alternate delegates-at-large were certified for:

• Jeb Bush
• Ben Carson
• Chris Christie
• Ted Cruz
• Carly Fiorina
• Mike Huckabee
• John R. Kasich
• Rand Paul
• Marco Rubio
• Rick Santorum
• Donald J. Trump

Republican district delegates and district alternate delegates were certified in all of Ohio’s congressional districts for:

• Jeb Bush
• Ben Carson
• Chris Christie
• Ted Cruz
• Carly Fiorina
• John R. Kasich
• Rand Paul
• Marco Rubio
• Donald J. Trump

Republican district delegates and district alternate delegates were certified in only the identified congressional districts for:

• Mike Huckabee
Congressional Districts 3, 4, 6, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15

• Rick Santorum
Congressional Districts 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 13, 15, 16

Republican delegates-at-large as well as district delegates for Congressional Districts 1, 2, 8, 11, 13, 15, 16 were also filed for Lindsey Graham, however, the candidate has requested his name no longer appear on the primary election ballot. Boards of elections were not instructed to include his name.

County boards of elections are required to certify congressional candidates by the 70th day before the primary election, January 5, 2016. Please note that in multi-county districts, contests are certified by the most populous county in the district. To get a list of these candidates, you will need to contact the individual county boards of elections.
