A Sabina man has been sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to trafficking a fentanyl-related compound in Highland County.

Jeremy Wilson, 42, was indicted by a Highland County grand jury in April on six charges, including three counts of aggravated trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound in the vicinity of a school zone, two third-degree felonies and one fourth-degree felony; and three counts of aggravated possession of a fentanyl-related compound, two fourth-degree felonies and one fifth-degree felony.

According to court records, Wilson pleaded guilty to the two third-degree felony counts of aggravated trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound in the vicinity of a school zone on May 17. The remaining four charges were dismissed.

A bill of particulars alleges that on or about June 8, 2022, Wilson sold 1.1 grams of fentanyl to a confidential informant in the parking lot of a Greenfield business. Two days later, Wilson was again accused of selling 2.28 grams of a fentanyl-related compound to a confidential informant, also in the parking lot of a Greenfield business.

Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss sentenced Wilson to a definite determinate term of 18 months on each count, to run consecutively, for a total of 36 months in prison. Wilson had 36 days of jail time credit, according to court records. He was also ordered to pay restitution and court costs.

Wilson was admitted into the Correctional Reception Center in Orient May 26, according to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.
