Residential tire collection Oct. 8 at Hillsboro City Garage

Highland County Recycling, through the Ross, Pickaway, Highland, Fayette Solid Waste Management District, has received a grant for residential tire collection.
This tire collection collects tires from the public at a reduced cost.
Tires are collected during a local event and picked up by Liberty Tire Recycling of Columbus. This year's event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Hillsboro City Garage from 9 a.m. until noon.
Passenger and light truck tires will be accepted at the cost of only 50 cents apiece. The last time this type of tire collection was held was in March 2009. At that time, more than 3,500 tires were collected.
