Preliminary approval given to finalize $14M in grant awards at special OneOhio meeting

At a special virtual Board of Directors meeting of the OneOhio Recovery Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization charged with helping distribute Ohio’s opioid settlement funds to advance substance use prevention, treatment and recovery efforts, preliminary approval was granted for 73 additional funding awards totaling more than $14 million.

Board Chair Don Mason reiterated the importance of getting additional grant approvals completed quickly. “Putting these grant dollars to work in communities is key to saving lives, and today’s round of approvals is another big step forward in our fight to combat the ongoing effects of our state’s addiction epidemic.”

Tuesday’s action by the Board of Directors authorizes Foundation staff to negotiate and finalize grant agreements with recipient organizations before grant monies are officially approved for release.

Approvals by OneOhio Region are as follows:

• Region 1: Eighteen (18) applications totaling $5,465,448.13

• Region 2: One (1) application totaling $47,759.56

• Region 3: Ten (10) applications totaling $1,323,780.39

• Region 6: Six (6) applications totaling $237,204.82

• Region 7: Five (5) applications totaling $648,857.20

• Region 8: Two (2) applications totaling $1,872,413.53

• Region 10: Eleven (11) applications totaling $1,426,870.23

• Region 11: One (1) application totaling $86,500

• Region 12: Six (6) applications totaling $520,684

• Region 13: Eleven (11) applications totaling $1,443,168.64

• Region 14: One (1) application totaling $709,000

• Region 15: One (1) application totaling $30,000

• Region 17: One (1) application totaling $25,879

• Region 18: Two (2) applications totaling $196,393

• Region 19: One (1) application totaling $20,000.
These latest grant approvals reflect the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to using Ohio’s opioid settlement funds to advance evidence-based substance use prevention, treatment and recovery efforts.

The next public meeting of the OneOhio Recovery Foundation’s Board of Directors is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the State Library of Ohio, 274 E. First Avenue, Columbus.
