Portman issues statement on investigation into Planned Parenthood

On Friday, U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-Ohio) released the following statement on Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine’s announcement that his office has concluded its investigation into the alleged sale of fetal tissue by Planned Parenthood affiliates and that the investigation revealed that aborted fetuses from Planned Parenthood facilities are ultimately disposed of in landfill sites.
 
“Disposing aborted fetuses into landfills is inhumane and reprehensible and should be stopped,” Portman said. “I support legislative action at the state level and have begun to look at next steps at the federal level to ban this practice.”
