Ohio National Guard signal company to deploy

About 30 members of the Ohio Army National Guard’s 1137th Signal Company, located in Springfield, are deploying to the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility in support of Operation Spartan Shield.

The public is invited to attend a call to duty ceremony for the deploying soldiers Saturday, Aug. 31 at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church Campus, 3638 Middle Urbana Road, Springfield 45502.

While deployed, the 1137th Signal Company (Tactical Installation and Networking-Enhanced, or TIN-E) will provide installation recovery, repair and maintenance of network lines throughout the CENTCOM area of responsibility in order to maintain effective lines of communication through network assets.
