Ohio Developmental Disabilities Council seeks public input for 2027-2031 State Plan

By
Ohio Developmental Disabilities Council, Press Release

The Ohio Developmental Disabilities Council (Ohio DD Council) invites Ohioans to participate in a survey to shape its Five-Year State Plan for 2027-2031.

This survey marks the first step in developing the Council’s Five Year State Plan, a plan developed based on input from people with developmental disabilities (DD), their family members, and community stakeholders across the state.

By taking the survey, Ohioans with developmental disabilities, their families and other community stakeholders will be able to influence and provide input on what issues and priorities the Council should focus on in the next five years in advocacy, capacity building, and systems change.

The input received from the community will shape a strategic plan that will help guide the Council on future projects and initiatives.

The survey is available online in English, Spanish and Somali:

• English
• Spanish
• Somali.

The deadline for the survey is Dec. 31, 2024.

Ohio DD Council is a Governor-appointed council made up of 60-percent people with developmental disabilities and family members, while the remaining 40 percent consists of state agency leaders, lawmakers and more.

Driven by its Five Year State Plan, the Council funds innovative programs that contribute to a coordinated system of services, supports and assistance. These efforts are grounded in the belief that individuals with DD have the right to be productive, interdependent members of their communities and of society at large. All projects in the plan align with the Council’s philosophy and the federal Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act.
