Ohio deputy assistant adjutant general for Air National Guard to be promoted to brigadier general

The Ohio National Guard will host a promotion ceremony for Col. Francisco J. Dominguez, deputy assistant adjutant general for Air, to the rank of brigadier general, Friday, Nov. 1 at 1 p.m. at Springfield-Beckley Air National Guard Base, Fuel Barn, 53919 Regula Ave., Springfield 45502.

Dominguez has served as the Ohio deputy assistant adjutant general for Air since February 2024. He is responsible to the Ohio adjutant general for helping direct Air National Guard operations in support of state and federal missions and establishing policy to ensure the readiness of more than 5,000 personnel stationed at four wings and multiple geographically separated support units throughout Ohio.

Dominguez began his military career in 1996 when he was commissioned through the Academy of Military Science at McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base in Knoxville, Tenn. He completed communications-electronics officer training in 1997 and held a variety of technical and leadership roles as a traditional Guard member through 2010, when he transitioned to full-time status with the Air National Guard.

He most recently served as the deputy commander of the 178th Wing at Springfield-Beckley Air National Guard Base in Springfield, with his previous assignment as the Ohio Air National Guard director of staff at Joint Force Headquarters in Columbus.

Dominguez has deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in leadership roles, helping provide critical cyberspace-communications infrastructure across the U.S. Central Command area of operations.

During his time as a traditional Guard member, Dominguez has held various technical and program leadership roles in the civilian sector, including systems and services engineering, agile project management, first- and second-level technical supervisory roles and enterprise and worldwide program management.

Dominguez holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Houston and a master’s in military operational art and science from the Air Command and Staff College at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Ala.
