ODOT advises drivers: Drive slowly and don't crowd the plow

While Ohio Department of Transportation crews throughout District 9 will be working hard to battle today's winter storm, motorists are reminded to take it slow and give snow plow operators room to work.
"We can't stress the message enough," said District 9 Deputy Director Jim Brushart. "When there's ice and snow, take it slow. Our crews will be doing their best to clear roadways, but motorists need to do their part by practicing safe driving and giving crews room to work. Remember: Don't crowd the plow."
Currently, road conditions throughout the area are snow covered and likely to be icy. Crews will continue their efforts to treat and plow the state highway system; however, motorists are reminded to exercise additional caution, remembering that conditions can change from minute to minute and from mile to mile.
Those who must travel during winter storms should allow additional travel time, be aware of snow and possible ice on roadways, particularly on bridges and overpasses, and reduce their speed significantly. Remember: Ice and Snow...Take it Slow!

District 9 includes Adams, Brown, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross and Scioto counties.
