New state projects expected to create 1,025 jobs, $523M in investments

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted Monday announced the approval of 11 projects set to create 1,025 new jobs and retain 567 jobs statewide.  

During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. The projects are expected to result in more than $65 million in new payroll and spur $523 million in investments across Ohio.  

CENTRAL 

Nuvo Packaging, LLC, City of Columbus (Franklin County), expects to create 100 full-time positions, generating $5 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s new location in Columbus. Nuvo Packaging is a plastic thermoforming company specializing in manufacturing recyclable food packaging for the bakery, deli, confectionary and food services industries. The proposed project includes establishing operations at the Columbus facility with the existing machinery and equipment on site, allowing Nuvo to serve the eastern portion of the U.S. TCA approved a 1.194-percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.   

Sarnova HC, LLC, city of Dublin (Franklin County), expects to create 19 full-time positions, generating $2.9 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s new location in Dublin. Sarnova is a medical equipment provider offering products, services and technology solutions for national emergency care providers, hospitals, educational institutions, businesses and government agencies. The proposed project includes the acquisition and renovation of an office building in Dublin to accommodate growth of shared services professional teams. TCA approved a 1.557-percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.  

Husky Marketing and Supply Company, city of Dublin (Franklin County), expects to create 115 full-time positions, generating more than $14 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s expansion project in Dublin. Husky oversees the sales, marketing, and logistics for the Cenovus Lima and Oregon gas and oil refineries. The proposed project will establish a North American headquarters for the company. TCA approved a 2.321-percent, nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.  

Toagosei America Inc., village of West Jefferson (Madison County), expects to create 50 full-time positions, generating $3 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s new location in West Jefferson. Toagosei is a global manufacturer of commodity chemicals, polymer and oligomer, adhesive material and performance chemicals serving industries such as automotive, electronics and 3D printing. The proposed project will establish a new acrylic polymer manufacturing facility to support battery markets. TCA approved a 1.333-percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.  

CyrusOne Management Services LLC and C1 New Albany LLC, city of New Albany (Licking County), expects to create 10 full-time positions, generating $1.5 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s new data center project in New Albany. CyrusOne is a leading global data center developer and operator specializing in digital infrastructure solutions. The proposed project will support the company’s expansion within Ohio and establish a computer data center in New Albany. TCA approved a 75-percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.  

NORTHEAST 

Vienna Beef Ltd., village of Newcomerstown (Tuscarawas County), expects to create 51 full-time positions, generating more than $2.7 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s new location in Newcomerstown. Vienna Beef manufactures the classic Chicago-style hot dog as well as Polish sausage and Italian beef which are sold to restaurants and food service nationwide. The proposed project includes the acquisition and retrofitting of an existing facility to install refrigerated pickle production lines to address rising demand. TCA approved a 1.245-percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.  

Integra Mission Critical LLC, city of Akron (Summit County), expects to create 150 full-time positions, generating $10.4 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s new location in Akron. Integra Mission Critical offers innovative solutions to the data center industry such as PowerBlox technology, solutions for cooling, modular data centers and CryptoBlox. The proposed project includes the lease of an industrial space to develop a new state-of-the-art modular infrastructure facility where it will manufacture modular cooling and electrical units for data centers. TCA approved a 1.751-percent, nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.  

International Food Solutions, Inc., city of Cleveland (Cuyahoga County), expects to create 220 full-time positions, generating $10.4 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s new location in Cleveland. International Food Solutions produces frozen Asian, Indian, Latin and Mediterranean meals to institutional customers across the U.S. The proposed project includes the acquisition of a new facility to include vertical integration of its current out-of-state poultry processing operations. TCA approved a 1.313-percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.  

NORTHWEST 

Vehtek Systems Inc., city of Bowling Green (Wood County), expects to create 120 full-time positions, generating $5.9 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s new location in Bowling Green. Vehtek Systems designs, develops and manufactures automotive systems, assemblies, modules and components primarily for sale to original equipment manufacturers. The proposed project includes the lease of a new facility to house production of a new contracts to produce front and rear door components for electric vehicles. TCA approved a 1.362-percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.  

Norplas Industries Inc., city of Rossford (Wood County), expects to create 140 full-time positions, generating more than $6.3 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s new location in Rossford. Norplas designs and manufactures automotive systems for original equipment manufacturers. The proposed project includes the lease and buildout of a new facility to house production of a new contract to produce a battery case/tray. TCA approved a 1.329-percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.  

SOUTHEAST 

GKN Sinter Metals LLC, village of Gallipolis (Gallia County), expects to create 50 full-time positions, generating more than $2.9 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s expansion project in Gallipolis. GKN manufactures clutches, gears, and other sintered products for the automotive industry, including Ford Motor Company, GM, Stellantis, Allison and Schaeffler. The proposed project includes the expansion of their current facility to support additional differential gear and work related to electric vehicles. TCA approved a 1.364-percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
