Press Release-
Shale Crescent USA, a leading economic development organization serving Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania, Thursday announced that Nathan Lord has been named as president.
The announcement was made by Mark Schwendeman, chairman of the nonprofit organization whose mission is to encourage business growth along the Ohio River Valley.
“Nathan has been with the organization for the past four years, providing leadership in building strategic partnerships, in promoting the region’s economic advantages, in outreach marketing, and in supporting the executive committee on a number of important initiatives,” said Mark Schwendeman, chairman of Shale Crescent USA.
According to Schwendeman, Lord will be overseeing the operations of Shale Crescent USA and will continue to encourage business development with the goal to strengthen local communities by attracting new investments that result in good-paying jobs, enhanced infrastructures and improved quality-of-life for residents.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as president of Shale Crescent USA,” Lord said. “The organization is poised to take advantage of our global business assets that are creating a once in a lifetime opportunity to attract new industry and good paying jobs to the region.
“I am particularly grateful and appreciative to have the opportunity to learn under the tutelage of two knowledgeable, highly respected and innovative business leaders in Shale Crescent USA co-founders Jerry James, President of Artex Oil, and Wally Kandel, Senior Vice President, Marietta Site Manager, Solvay Specialty Chemicals USA.”
According to Wally Kandel, “Nathan joined Shale Crescent USA very early on and worked as the Business Manager performing everything from office organizer to conference presenter. He has learned a great deal and has earned a very high level of credibility with all those we work with. I am quite confident he will do an excellent job leading the organization.”
Jerry James, had this to say about Lord’s taking on the role of president: “Nathan has become well-respected as a leader among those organizations working to bring jobs and prosperity to the Shale Crescent USA region. This is well-deserved promotion, and we look forward to his continued leadership.”
