McClain honors Ernie Blankenship

     Longtime radio sports broadcaster Ernie Blankenship of WCHO and WSRW Radio was honored Dec. 22 just prior to the start of the varsity basketball game between the Hillsboro Indians and McClain Tigers.
    Known as the 'Radio Voice of Hillsboro and Highland County,' and also as the Dean of Ohio High School Sports Broadcasters, Mr. Blankenship is retiring as a full-time broadcaster after his 52nd season of calling high school sports.
    McClain athletic director Pat Stevens, GEVS  Superintendent Terry Fouch and former McClain Tigers head coach Rick VanMatre made presentations of a framed photograph of former All-Ohio standout Danté Jackson and a McClain jersey with the number 52, in recognition of Ernie's 52 years in broadcasting.
