Lt. Governor Mary Taylor names two to head Department of Insurance areas

Lt. Governor Mary Taylor has named two to key posts at the Ohio Department of Insurance. Allison Conklin will serve as Assistant Director of Legislative Affairs and Amanda Baird is the new General Counsel.
 
“Allison and Amanda understand the workings of government and insurance, and their dynamic skills will enhance our leadership team,” said Taylor, also director of the Ohio Department of Insurance. “I am excited to have them centrally involved in carrying out our duty to serve and protect Ohioans.”

Baird supervises legal assistance provided to the department’s divisions and litigation. Previously, she was counsel at the Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of Financial Institutions. Baird also founded and was a managing member of Baird Law Offices, providing general corporate counsel services and representation.   
 
Conklin manages the department’s legislative initiatives and engages industry stakeholders. The department’s former legislative liaison, she previously worked in the Ohio Senate and United States Senate.
