Legislation urging support for HCR 28 passes the Ohio House

State Representative Doug Green (R-Mt. Orab) announced that the Ohio House of Representatives passed House Concurrent Resolution 28, legislation urging the United States Congress to pass, and the President to sign into law, the Toxic Exposure Research Act of 2015.
HCR 28 requests support for the Toxic Exposure Research Act of 2015 by the U.S. Congress and the President. This act will establish a national center in the Department of Veterans Affairs for those suffering from substances that they were exposed to during their armed forces service.
Many veterans and current servicemen and women have unknowingly been exposed to a variety of harmful substances and have suffered from their dangerous effects, with many passing the effects on to their children. Servicepersons and their families would be able to seek treatment through this center and the center would also establish an advisory board on these health conditions.

“I am overjoyed to see that HCR 28 has passed the Ohio House,” Rep. Green said. “We still do not know the long term generational effects from harmful substances such as Agent Orange and other possible exposures. But we do want to give our veterans every opportunity possible to obtain treatment and be granted every benefit available. This is the least we can do for them as they have sacrificed so much for the people of our state and country.”
HCR 28 passed the Ohio House with bipartisan support and now heads to the Ohio Senate for further consideration.
