LaRose confirms statewide candidates qualified to appear on Nov. 5 general election ballot
Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose Friday released the list of statewide candidates who have met the requirements necessary to appear on the statewide ballot in Ohio for the Nov. 5, 2024 general election.
For President of the United States and Vice President of the United States:
• Donald J. Trump and JD Vance (Republican)
• Kamala Harris and Tim Walz (Democratic)
• Chase Oliver and Mike ter Maat (Libertarian)
• Richard Duncan & Mitchell Preston Bupp (Independent)*
• Peter Sonski & Lauren Onak (Independent)*
• Jill Stein & Anita Rios (Independent)*.
For United States Senate:
• Bernie Moreno (Republican) previously certified
• Sherrod Brown (Democratic) previously certified
• Don Kissick (Libertarian) .
Claudia De la Cruz and Karina Garcia, as well as Shiva Ayyadurai and Crystal Ellis, failed to meet the requirements necessary to appear on the presidential ballot in Ohio for the Nov. 5, 2024 General Election.
Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was certified but has since pulled out of the race and will not appear on the ballot.
The deadline for the Ohio Secretary of State to certify the official form of the ballot to be used by Ohio’s 88 county boards of elections is set for Sept. 6, 60 days prior to the November General Election.
Write-in candidates may still file declarations with our office until Aug. 26. This list will be updated with all write-in candidates once the Aug. 26 deadline has passed.
* The designation “independent” will not appear on the ballot. Independent candidates choose to appear on the ballot as “nonparty candidate” or “other-party candidate.”
