Inspire Training Center grand opening Aug. 20

Owner Becki Crum and her staff will unveil Inspire Training Center to the public Saturday, Aug. 20, with a grand opening slated for 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
An obstacle course will be set up for the grand opening to allow kids a chance to try out some of the new equipment in the gym. There will also be face painting, door prizes and free bottled water and light refreshments.
The training center, which features 8,000 square feet of space, will house classes for ages 2-18 as well as gym space for people of all ages. The center will include Zumba classes, and Crum said that she hopes to add batting cages in the future.
Crum encourages those interested in signing up for September classes to come early, as the first 100 people who sign up and pay for September classes will get free registration.
September classes will begin Aug. 29 due to the Labor Day holiday, with an additional four classes in September. Classes offered include “bouncers” classes for ages 2-1/2 (must be potty-trained) through 5 and beginner, intermediate and advanced cheerleading, trampoline and tumbling. Classes are on a four-week monthly schedule.
In addition to regular classes, Inspire trains a competitive
cheerleading team and a competitive trampoline and tumbling gymnastics team.
“We are accepting new members for our competitive cheerleading team this year,” Crum said. “Open practices start in October.”
Certified personal fitness instructor Susie Lucas will run the Adult Fitness Center, with open gym hours available for people to use a variety of exercise machines. Lucas will offer “group fitness” times where she will direct personal training for groups of people. Lucas is also a licensed massage therapist and will offer massage at the center. While the massage and open gym will be convenient for parents of Inspire’s younger students, the gym is open to the public during listed workout hours.
“It will be something good for the parents who have to sit and wait,” Crum said.
Inspire Training Center is located at 2005 U.S. Highway 62, Winchester, but Crum doesn’t want people to be deterred by the address.
“It is really only about 10 miles south of Hillsboro,” Crum said.
“I like to say ‘it’s not real far from anywhere.’ There are so many schools that are reasonably close. The center is just across from the Old Y restaurant.”
Beginning Aug. 20, Kelly Cox and the American Flyers will join Inspire.
“We’ll be better together,” Crum said. “Between Kelly and I, we have over 30 years of gymnastics teaching experience, plus personal training.
“We’re excited to be offering gymnastics in the area.”
