Hundreds gather for Mowrystown Memorial Day services

The Tissot family led a crowd of nearly 400 people in singing the National Anthem to begin the annual Memorial Day services at the Mowrystown Cemetery, Monday, May 25.

The Whiteoak High School band led a parade from Whiteoak High School to the cemetery.

They were followed by many community members of all ages, from those in strollers and on tricycles to World War II veterans on ATVs. Other participants in the program were the Highland County Honor Guard and guest speaker the Rev. Larry Allen.
