Hillsboro Police Report

On Feb. 14 at approximately 10:15 a.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a report of theft at the Highland County YMCA. Upon the officers' arrival, it was found that $40 in cash had been stolen from a member of the establishment. A report was taken, and the incident remains under investigation.

At approximately 6 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a report of theft in the 300 block of Bigelow Street. Upon the officers' arrival, it was found that a person(s) had entered the residence and stolen a Sony DVD player valued at $170  and food. A report was taken, and the incident remains under investigation.

At approximately 7:27 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a report of theft from Shoe Show on Harry Sauner Road. Upon the officers' arrival, it was found that a male and female had entered the store and stolen a pair of shoes valued at $15 and left without paying. A description was given to the officers, and both subjects were located walking on North West Street. Desiwray Kay Jewell Fulcher, 19, of Hillsboro and Timothy Richard Davis, 24, of Hillsboro were both arrested for theft and taken to the Highland County Justice Center.

On Feb. 17 at approximately 3:10 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a report of theft at Rent-2-Own on North High Street. Upon the officers' arrival, it was found that Theodore Knisley, 31, of Greenfield, had entered into a lease agreement with Rent-2-Own on a laptop computer valued at $950, then sold the laptop to a pawn shop in Wilmington. The pawn shop then sold the laptop. A report was taken, and Knisley has been charged with theft.

On Feb. 18 at approximately 12:50 a.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a report of a tan four-door 1998 Nissan Sentra being stolen from their driveway in the 300 block of Welston Street. The victim stated that the vehicle had been taken sometime between 9:30 p.m. and midnight. A report was taken. Later that morning at approximately 2:29 a.m., the Highland County Sheriff's Department reported the vehicle found and disabled on Landess Road off 138, Danville Pike. A Hillsboro officer responded to the scene and gathered evidence from the vehicle. The investigation is pending.

On Feb. 16 at approximately 7:35 a.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a report of a two-car accident at the intersection of North West Street and West North Street. Upon the officers' arrival, it was found that Brittany R. Farley of Hillsboro was making a left turn onto West North Street in a 2001 Oldsmobile when a 2008 Toyota driven by Derek A. Stump of Hillsboro was northbound on North West Street. Stump proceeded through the intersection, striking the passenger side of the Oldsmobile, and stated that the operator failed to use her turn signal. After checking the vehicle, it was found that the turns signal was not functioning properly. No injuries were reported, and a report was taken.

On Feb. 16 at approximately 3:28 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a report of a two-car accident in front of the Post Office in the 300 block of North High Street. An officer responded, and it was found that a 2008 International truck driven by Jill A. Byers of Washington C.H. was sitting stationary southbound in traffic when a 1994 Chevrolet Astrovan driven by Ramona Stump of Hillsboro attempted to back from a parked position at the post office, striking the other vehicle. No injuries were reported. A report was taken, and Stump was issued a citation for driving under suspension and improper backing.

On Feb. 18 at approximately 10:45 a.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a report of a two-car accident at the intersection of North High Street and Catherine Street. Upon the officers' arrival, it was found that a 2011 Chevrolet driven by Suzanne Armstrong of Hillsboro was making a left-hand turn onto Catherine Street from North High when a 2000 Buick driven by David J. Bundy of Hillsboro attempted to make a left turn onto North High Street from Catherine Street, causing his vehicle to strike the other. Bundy was issued a citation for failure to yield. No injuries were reported. A report was taken.

Bentley McCarty, 39, of Lynchburg, bench warrant.

Fasha J. Deans, 23, of Hillsboro, bench warrant.

Natasha M. Gibson, 24, of Latham, bench warrant.
