Hillsboro Police Report

On Dec. 14 at 1:43 p.m., Virgil Potts of Hillsboro was driving a 2003 Ford and was traveling eastbound on Chillicothe Pike when he advised he fell asleep and drove off the left side of the roadway and struck a utility pole, snapping the pole in half. Potts was transported to Highland District Hospital by the HIllsboro Life Squad. Potts was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control.

On Dec. 15, Robert Clemons of Hillsboro reported he had some medication that was either lost or stolen.

At 3:50 p.m., Walmart reported they had a male subject detained that had taken items form the store without paying for them. Officers investigated and arrested Roger Wood, Jr. of Hillsboro for theft.

At 3:13 p.m., Tiffany Burchett of Hillsboro, driving a 1995 Chevrolet, was making a left turn into a driveway on South High Street and turned into the path of a southbound 2004 Mercury that was driven by Annette Kegan of Hillsboro. Burchett was cited for failure to yield when turning left.

At 1:37 p.m., the department received a call of a suspected fight on South Elm Street. An officer investigated and found a 15-year-old male and 12-year-old female had been using profanity and being disorderly toward the two women that had stopped when seeing the subjects possibly fighting. The 15-year-old male was charged with disorderly conduct. The 12-year-old female became disorderly and kicked an officer at this time. She was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting and assault. An emergency hearing was held, and the female was transported to JDC.

Kimberly Hickok, 25, of South Salem, bench warrant.
Brittany Mullins, 19, Hillsboro, two counts of bad checks.
Brian Ferrell, 41, Hillsboro, failure to file city tax.
