On Monday, Oct. 10 at 8:30 a.m., a theft of fencing materials was reported to have been taken from Morgan Fencing, located at 742 North High Street in Hillsboro. The materials were valued at over $2,800. This incident remains under investigation by the Department.
On Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 8:40 a.m., an alteration was reported at a residence in the 700 block of South East Street. Upon investigation, it was determined that Kyle Ross, 21, of Hillsboro had assaulted a female subject. Ross was subsequently charged with one count of domestic violence.
On Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 3 p.m., a three-vehicle crash occurred on South High St. just south of Uhrig Street. A 1993 Chevrolet truck operated by Bonnie Kihnley, 60, of Hillsboro was northbound on South High St. Kihnley was unable to stop in time, striking the rear of a second vehicle. That vehicle was forced to strike the rear of a third vehicle. The third vehicle was a 2000 Dodge operated by a 17-year-old juvenile of New Vienna. Two juvenile passengers in the second vehicle were transported to Highland District Hospital by private vehicle. There was nonfunctional damage to all three vehicles. Kihnley was cited for failing to maintain an assured clear distance ahead.
On Thursday, Oct. 20 at 3:19 p.m., a two-vehicle crash occurred on North West Street at the intersection with Chariss Drive and Fenner Avenue. A 1998 Cadillac operated by Kathleen Brewer, 85, of Harveysburg was southbound on North West Street when she was unable to stop in time, striking the rear of a second vehicle. The second vehicle was a 2008 Chevrolet operated by Richard Bodley, 65, of Hillsboro, who was also southbound. The Brewer vehicle sustained disabling damage, while the Bodley vehicle received nonfunctional damage. There were no reported injuries. Brewer was cited for failing to maintain an assured clear distance ahead.
On Thursday, Oct. 20 at 5:40 p.m., officers responded to a deer crash in the 100 block of Danville Pike. Upon investigation, it was found that a deer had run into the path of an eastbound 2005 Chevrolet operated by Barbara Kratzer, 76, of Hillsboro. There were no reported injuries to the driver.
