On Aug. 24, the Hillsboro Police Department responded to Walmart on three different theft calls. At 12:35 p.m., Donald Allen was apprehended by Walmart security and detained until an officer arrived. After investigation, Donald Allen of Hillsboro was arrested for theft. At 1:48 p.m., David Storer of Fayetteville and Heather Snider of Fayetteville were both caught concealing $176 worth of merchandise. Both were arrested for theft. At 5:37 p.m., Christopher Sweet of Hillsboro was arrested for theft, after it was found that he had switched the price on an item to purchase it for a lesser amount.
At 7:27 p.m., the department received a call to do a welfare check on some children in the 200 block of East South Street by a family member. Upon arrival, it was found that Tracy Mills of Hillsboro was under the influence of alcohol while she had been taking prescription medication. She was not capable of taking care of her children properly. The children were both fine, and one child was already with a family friend. The family friend advised she would take care of both of the children for the night. The other family members, along with Children Services, were made aware of the findings. Tracy Mills was taken into custody and arrested for child endangerment. It was also found that Mills had an outstanding warrant in Adams County for bad checks.[[In-content Ad]]
