Hillsboro man arrested following vehicle break-ins

Between the dates of April 4 and April 15, the Hillsboro Police Department received multiple calls in reference to vehicles being entered without permission and items being stolen. The areas ranged from Willettsville Pike, Northview Drive and Oak Hills Drive.

Currently, there have been a total of 13 victims of the thefts reported. Some vehicles were entered and contents gone through without anything being stolen.

On April 14, the Hillsboro Police Department received a call of a vehicle alarm going off and a male running from the area of Mary’s Lane. Upon arrival, a vehicle occupied by one male was stopped. The male was found in possession of several items reported stolen from previous thefts. Also found in the car were rubber gloves and dark clothing.

After interviewing the suspect, it was found he was responsible for the recent occurrences of thefts around the area. Some property was recovered and returned to the owners.

The male was identified as Joshua Lee Arnold, 26, of Hillsboro. Arnold was arrested and charged with six counts of misdemeanor theft and seven counts of misdemeanor attempt to commit a theft offense. Arnold was transported to the Highland County Justice Center.
