Highland County Sheriff's Report

Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of April 20-26, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 472 911 calls, answered 134 requests for service, dispatched 128 fire and EMS runs and took 26 offense reports.
A deputy was dispatched to a Mad River Road residence on April 20 at 4:18 p.m. in reference to a criminal damaging complaint of someone deliberately breaking a window out of a vehicle. A report was taken, and the incident remains under investigation.
On Thursday, April 23 at 9:16 p.m., deputies responded to a domestic violence call on South Street in the community of Russell Station. Several calls from the residence described a female being intoxicated and causing problems. Deputies arrived on scene and arrested Janice Flint, 55, of Wilmington for disorderly conduct.
A Hamer Township resident came to the Highland County Justice Center at 9:44 p.m. on April 24 to speak with a deputy about receiving threatening text messages. An offense report was taken, and the incident remains under investigation.

At 1:49 a.m. on April 25, a call came from the 7900 block of West Prospect Road reporting a male subject was there banging on the front door and broke a window. A deputy responded to the residence and took a report.
The Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at 8:20 p.m. on Saturday, April 25 from the 3000 block of Sharpsville Road. A female called, saying her parents were in a physical altercation and law enforcement was needed. Deputies arrived on scene a short time later, and a male suspect was taken into custody after being tazed. He was charged with one count of domestic violence and resisting arrest.
